 Grupo Monte NY is a versatile ensemble fluent in Afro-Cuban jazz, including such rhythms as son, bolero, danzón, mambo, descarga and cha-cha-cha. It also touches upon Brazilian jazz, bossa nova, and samba. The unique instrumentation of vibraphone, flute, bass, and percussion cook together a simmering of spicy, infectious grooves, creating the perfect ambience for listening and dancing. And for even more hip shakin', GMNY features vocalist Jean Rohe, who sings in Spanish & Portuguese. Experienced professionals for corporate parties, weddings and clubs for several years, Grupo Monte can accommodate events of any size with ensembles ranging from a trio up to a septet featuring various horns.
