History: Hard Labor is a 5 piece bluegrass band that has been involved in the Atlanta Bluegrass Scene for over 8 years. They have navigated through the past years constantly improving. Hard Labor realizes that entertaining folks is what its all about.
The Band: Hard Labor consists of 5 members and display some of the most talented pickers around.
Bobby Tate with his rock solid clear tenor vocal range and classic sounding lead is easily one of the best flat pickers in GA. today. He has emulated the styles of Tony Rice and Doc Watson while adding his own texture to the music.
John Nipper on baritone vocals is an excellent banjo player delivers a smooth and progressive take on the music while giving a nod to the traditional styles that started it all.
Marcus Bramlett entertaining to watch provides another solid lead vocal while playing the acoustic upright bass. He is a bass player that attacks a song, but understands his main job is to make everyone else look good!
Mark McGee is probably the most talented instrumentalist; he can play all the instruments well. He is nothing but fantastic on the mandolin for Hard Labor.
Jake Hegwood is the newest member of the band and has been called a vocal genius. He injects an energy into this band with his hard hitting rhythm and simply amazing vocals.
We are available in to play for your wedding, back yard or corporate party.
Our charges are very reasonable, but vary depending on the distance, special requests, and the amount music that is needed. However, we understand the quality of live music and always try to make it fun, and will work with you however we can. We understand you expect something more or you would just plug in your ipod!
