Founded in St. Paul during the fall of 2005, Slowflight brings together a mix of witty songwriting, compelling vocals, and a solid but smooth rhythm section. With a lighter alternative sound that will remind you of Dave Matthews and John Mayer, Slowflight pulls its influences from many musical genres and backgrounds, including rock, folk, jazz, and blues. Front man and songwriter Ilya Begelman's soft vocals and acoustic guitar work bring a laid back feel to Slowflight's sound, while lead guitarist and co-writer Pete VonDeLinde offers up catchy guitar riffs, bluesy solos, and occasional vocal harmonies. Tony Contino on bass and Matt McCabe on drums complete the band's unique sound with smooth beats and locked rhythms. Slowflight has a little something for everyone.
