We play a wide variety of blues from more traditional to modern. Chicago blues is where
electric blues started and is an important part of our repertoire including songs by Jimmy
Reed, Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon. Freddie King bridges the gap between Chicago
blues and another important style for us, Texas blues. Texas blues is a harder roadhouse
style such as Johnny Winter, ZZ Top and SRV. But blues is still alive and well with many
contemporary artists such as Philip Walker, Joe Louis Walker and Robert Cray to name a
few we also cover. We don’t stop in the US though, the British blues of the 60’s such as
the Blues Breakers are also a component of our style.
But it all comes down to the music and blues is the heart and soul of music and as Otis
Spann said: “Most of the people who come to hear us, want to hear stories of their own
experiences. That’s what we give them”
