Universal Slim & The Blues Kangaroos have been in existence for more than 25 years. They've shared many stages with both local and national acts throughout the Midwest and the South. They have won 2 Suburban Nitelife "Best of the Burbs" competitions for "Best Blues Band". The first in 2005 and the second in 2007". Armed with an all "new" backing band. Universal Slim & The Blues Kangaroos is NOT your typical blues band. They pride themselves with a mix of hard rockin' roll, heavy blues and a little Southern fried rock thrown in just for fun! And FUN you will have at a Universal Slim & The Blues Kangaroos show! Bob "Slim" Rader, (Universal Slim) Being the founder and only remaining original member of the band. The "NEW" Blues Kangaroos (Slim's current backing band), are former members of Ol'Dogs New Trix and Deb Seitz and The Ol'Dogs Blues Band. The rhythm section of Ron Wright (bass) and Scott Tyrcha (drums) have played together for more than 20 yrs. and have been laying the foundation for the bands, Ol'Dogs New Trix and Deb Seitz & The Ol'Dogs Blues Band. Veteran guitarist, and former member of Deb Seitz & The Ol'Dogs Blues Band, Ol' Dog New Trix and Sidetrack is long time friend, Lou Aguado! Who rounds out the rest of the Blues Kangaroos.
