 West 79th Street Funk Jazz Band hopes to bring to the mainstream a jazz consciousness with its own style of creative grooves, break beats, that will fill your hearts with rhythm and soul. This eclectic group has performed public and private events across the city bringing an
innovative style of jazz that includes the genres of Funk, R&B, and Hip-Hop. The band has been advertised in articles and newspapers such as the L.A Weekly and the Los Angeles City Beat. In addition, the band has played at reputable venues like the Disneyland Hotel, and the Queen Mary.
Formed in 2003, the West 79th Street Funk Jazz Band was formerly a house band for "The Kitchen on 43rd street" restaurant located in Leimert Park, California. 1. How do I book your band?
You can either book The West 79th Street Funk Jazz Band via online, fax, e-mail, or phone. Please let us know your event type, location, and music genre(s), date of the event, how many hours needed, and type of band. We would need an initial 50% of the first deposit to reserve the date. We are pleased to provide free consultation.
2. Do you charge by the hour or per event and do you take breaks?
Our rates vary by distance, time, and labor. We accommodate various genres (Jazz, Swing, Funk, Hip-hop, and Top 40.) We will provide you a standardize rate sheet that has basic charges of the event. Breaks are taken every two hours. During our breaks, music per cd or ipod will be provided during the downtime. Note: No two events are the same, so price may have slight variations depending on your wants and needs.
